The Blue Ridge Scenic Railroad Is Up And Rolling In 2010

This is such a fun family trip... Even romantic if you plan to spend some quality time with a loved one. We have been fortunate enough to have both experiences on the only mainline railroad excursion service based in Georgia. My wife and I went on the Santa Express 3 years ago when my wife was pregnant with our son and again with the entire family last winter. It is so much fun to watch the kids go nuts when the train stops to pick Santa up along the Toccoa river at the Curtis Switch bridge! This time it was all about the kids... We now have two! our son who is 3 and our daughter who was only 6 months at that time. We also had the cousins with us, two boys 3 and 5. I can tell you first hand, I love the fact that this has become a family tradition and our family will have a chance to ride and connect memories year after year and season after season!

Spring is in the air! Remember those crisp mountain afternoons? Flora just starting to pop up and trees budding... A little purple here and yellow there. Witness the North Georgia mountains come alive from the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway. Departing from the depot in the quaint mountain town of Blue Ridge, GA. The Scenic Rail Way meanders north 26 miles out of downtown through the forests along the beautiful Toccoa River (great N GA fishing river)until you arrive in Copper Hill, TN. Copper Hill is Located on the Tennessee / Georgia state line at McCaysville. Bisected by the Toccoa - Ocoee River this charming mountain town has several shops, cafes, and rich history. Not to mention a popular stopping point for adventure seekers on their way to the Ocoee whitewater Center!

Easter is right around the corner and the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway has another special visitor...
