Celebrate Thanksgiving in Blue Ridge

Things to do in Blue Ridge, Ga for Thanksgiving

A cornucopia of options are bountiful to celebrate Thanksgiving in Blue Ridge.

Looking to decompress?  Give thanks with friends and family in the North Georgia mountains.  After a short 90 minute drive from Atlanta and you can be sitting in a hot tub, gazing out on the fall colors without a worry in world, surrounded by your favorite people.  Check our website for available vacation rentals.

Help those in need this season.   Two local charities based in Blue Ridge,  Feed Fannin, founded in 2009. Feed Fannin is a volunteer organization working together to educate and encourage the community towards self-sufficiency while providing food for those in need.  Snack in a Backpack, provides food for students who get their meals at school, and may have little or nothing to eat on the weekends. A bag is filled with non-perishable, healthy food items by volunteers and delivered to their designated schools for the children to take home over the weekend. This food may help feed other family members as well.

If you are feeling sporty, the Annual Blue Ridge Turkey Trot takes place on Thanksgiving morning in Downtown Blue Ridge.  For details, click here for the race website.

Want to shop 'til you drop? It's Blue Friday in Blue Ridge.  The day after Thanksgiving, Friday, November 27th, support local business and avoid the mall madness.  Special sales, extended hours and a roving Barbershop Quartet will get your December holidays off to a perfect start.

Blue Ridge Scenic Railway turns into The Santa Express! Featuring “Twas the Night Before Christmas”. Please check the schedule for various dates and times.  While on board your family will hear the “Twas the Night Before Christmas” Christmas story, sing Christmas Carols, visit with Christmas characters and of course visit with Santa. Each child receives a traditional BRSR memento, BRSR Christmas Activity Book and a candy cane. Approximately 1 Hour.

Don't see what you are looking for?  Check out the Fannin County Chamber of Commerce Event Calendar for the entire list of activities in November.
